Why Designers Are Turning to Long Format Yorkstone Paving
The Rise of Long Format Yorkstone Paving, often referred to as Yorkstone planks, has quickly become a favourite among landscape architects and designers. With widths typically in 100mm or 150mm and lengths up to 1200mm, these slim, sawn units create strong linear patterns that add rhythm and elegance to modern hardscapes. The format allows for a range of laying styles including stretcher bond, soldier course, and herringbone.
Designers are drawn to the clean geometry these planks offer while retaining the depth, texture, and authenticity of natural stone. Ideal for courtyards, terraces, and even urban public realm spaces, long format stone bridges the gap between traditional material and contemporary design language. When cut from premium British sandstone or Yorkstone, the result is a durable, refined surface that performs as well as it looks.
