Blacko Ridge is a premium European sandstone, selected for its strength, visual compatibility with British landscapes, and outstanding technical performance. Quarried in Spain and supplied through an independent operator, this fine to medium-grained stone presents in soft buff tones with subtle veining and exceptional surface integrity.
With a low water absorption rate (0.43%), high compressive strength (142.9 MPa), and excellent freeze-thaw resistance, Blacko Ridge is engineered for long-term durability in both public and private realm applications. Its surface can be finished in a range of treatments including sawn, honed, aged, flamed, or bush-hammered — offering versatility across paving, cladding, and bespoke masonry.
Thanks to its dense structure and low porosity, Blacko Ridge requires minimal maintenance while delivering strong slip resistance and resistance to salt crystallisation and abrasion. It is particularly well suited to civic schemes, contemporary landscapes, and as a reliable alternative to heritage stones no longer in supply.
