Broughton Hill Riven Sandstone is a traditional British gritstone known for its durability, character, and warm, natural appearance. Quarried in Yorkshire from the historic Millstone Grit formation, it is split along natural sedimentary planes to create a hand-cleft riven finish that brings immediate texture and authenticity to any landscape.

With a base palette of buff tones, enriched by subtle silver, olive, and brown inclusions, Broughton Hill blends seamlessly into both rural and urban settings. The fine to medium grain and natural variation across the surface provide visual depth while enhancing slip resistance — making it ideal for pathways, patios, terraces, and civic spaces.

The stone’s high density, low porosity, and excellent weathering properties support long service life and minimal maintenance, even in exposed or high-traffic environments. Suitable for both traditional garden schemes and sensitive public realm projects, Broughton Hill Riven offers dependable performance and genuine material integrity.
