Newchurch Grey Paving
Newchurch Grey is a premium blue-toned sandstone quarried in northern Spain. With a fine to semi-fine uniform grain and occasional warm brown spotting, it closely echoes the visual qualities of traditional British gritstones such as Scout Moor and Whitworth. Following the closure of those UK sources, Newchurch Grey provides a reliable, high-performance alternative, offering strength, consistency, and visual continuity for landscape and architectural use.
The stone is available in a wide range of finishes including sawn, honed, fine hammered, rustic hammered, flamed, and aged. Its tight grain, low porosity, and impressive mechanical strength make it ideal for high-traffic external paving, walling, and detailing. Suitable for both contemporary and conservation contexts, Newchurch Grey is available in paving, setts, plank formats, and bespoke cut stone.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Newchurch Grey Sandstone is a fine-grained, blue-toned stone with exceptional strength and visual clarity. Quarried in Spain, it serves as a high-performance alternative to now-closed UK gritstone sources like Scout Moor and Whitworth. With low water absorption, high flexural and compressive strength, and proven frost durability, it’s ideal for use in pavements, public spaces, and design-led landscapes. Available in a full range of finishes and formats, Newchurch Grey delivers structural integrity with architectural presence.

SUSTAINABILITY & PROVANANCE
Newchurch Grey is extracted from an independent quarry in Spain that operates under strict environmental controls and prioritises responsible stone extraction. Thanks to its high yield, dense structure, and minimal processing needs, the material ensures low wastage and high lifecycle performance. Regular shipments into the UK allow for competitive lead times, and its resilience helps reduce maintenance and replacement over time, supporting a lower carbon footprint across the life of the product.
