Newchurch Grey is a premium blue-toned sandstone quarried in northern Spain. With a fine to semi-fine uniform grain and occasional warm brown spotting, it closely echoes the visual qualities of traditional British gritstones such as Scout Moor and Whitworth. Following the closure of those UK sources, Newchurch Grey provides a reliable, high-performance alternative, offering strength, consistency, and visual continuity for landscape and architectural use.

 

The stone is available in a wide range of finishes including sawn, honed, fine hammered, rustic hammered, flamed, and aged. Its tight grain, low porosity, and impressive mechanical strength make it ideal for high-traffic external paving, walling, and detailing. Suitable for both contemporary and conservation contexts, Newchurch Grey is available in paving, setts, plank formats, and bespoke cut stone.
